位于欧洲南部的黑山共和国诞生于2006年，是欧洲“最年轻”的国家，但却有着传奇的民族历史和深厚的宗教传统。东正教、天主教、伊斯兰教在此交相辉映。作品运用笔墨点染等技法将山貌和教堂等自然和人文景观予以表现，体现出黑山人民对宗教信仰的尊重与包容。

Located in southern Europe, theRepublic of Montenegro was founded in 2006. Although it is Europe’s “youngest”country, it is known for its legendary national history as well as its profoundreligious traditions which encompass the Orthodox, Catholic and Islamic faiths.With a touch of his brush and ink, the artist gives life to numerous mountainpeaks, among which stands a solitary church. This scene combining natural andcultural elements embodies the respect and tolerance of the Montenegrins fordifferent religious beliefs.

圣·安德烈天主教堂是新加坡最具宗教影响的教堂之一。外墙洁白亮丽，形制庄严神圣，高耸的尖顶彰显出哥特式建筑的鲜明风貌。该作以纯水墨的形式，营造出古朴怀旧的意象。墙面上闪烁的光影，寓意着在宗教精神光芒的庇护下，教徒们的心灵获得了片刻宁静与净化。

St Andrew’s Cathedral is one of the most influential churches inSingapore. Its sparkling white outer walls, solemn structure and toweringsteeple are clear manifestations of the construction’s Gothic architecturalstyle. In this unadulterated ink wash painting, the artist evokesunsophisticated and nostalgic imageries. The apparent light flickering on theedifice’s walls symbolizes the momentary serenity that engulfs the cleansedsouls of the faithful as they take shelter in the radiance of the Holy Spirit.

水墨大写意因水、墨的透明性和交融性，加之生宣纸渗化的不确定性，往往呈现出其不意的效果，暗含了水墨艺术所特有的东方神韵。作品描绘了有“佛塔之国”之称的缅甸，霞光中的浦甘佛塔摆脱了客观的描摹，被抽离出欢快奔放的意象，注入自由的生命力和视觉冲击力。

Because of the transparent and blending nature of ink as well as theunpredictable absorbency of rice paper, freehand brushwork often breedsunexpected results. This technique suggests the characteristic oriental charmof ink wash paintings. This particular work portrays Myanmar, also known as“The Country of Pagodas”. The Bagan Pagoda amid the twilight breaks away fromobjective depiction and elicits bold, lively imageries. Imbuedwith unrestrained vitality, this painting is visually stunning.

The Taktshang Monastery in the background of this painting is the mostsacred Buddhist temple within the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is located on athousand-meter high cliff, and has traditionally been the meditation retreatfor Tibetan Buddhist patriarchs. It was especially revered in ancient times,and in our days it is an unmistakable part of the Bhutanese national identity.The painting depicts the calm, positive and compassionate facial features ofBhutanese monks sheltered by the Buddha’s Light, revealing the deep, sublimespiritual strength of each individual in a eulogy to life awareness.

画家游历中东国家约旦，途径小镇，偶遇身着传统服饰的异国少女，遂成此画。人物形象运用没骨画法，描绘出少女纯真可人的面庞，富有质感。而衣着、动物则用笔粗犷，用墨浑厚，疏松简率，背景虚实处理得当。水墨与光影技法相融合，生动地塑造出少女柔美恬静的倩影。

In the course of his travels in the middle-eastern country of Jordan,the artist journeyed to a small town where he encountered a foreign girldressed in traditional clothing from whom he drew the inspiration for thispainting. The artist painted the figure in a Mogu style [ink paintings withoutoutlines], allowing him to portray the girl’s innocent and prettyvisage with rich textures. Contrastingly, he realizes her clothes and theanimal in a rather minimalist fashion, with vigorous if not rough strokes ofhis brush and ink. The artist handles very well the relationship between voidsand solids in the background. The integration of different ink wash andlighting techniques allowed him to vividly portray the young woman’s beauty.

老城广场位于波兰首都华沙老城的中心地带，始建于13世纪，教堂林立，古堡及建筑风格各异，不同的色彩浑然一体，展现出古朴幽雅的格调。今天的老城广场在“二战”时湮灭于战火之中，20世纪70年代社会集资按原貌加以修复，从而平添了一份凤凰涅槃后的崇高与神圣。

The old town square is situated at the heart of the Polish capital ofWarsaw’s old quarters. Its construction began in the 13th century. Churchesabound, and every old castle and erected structure display differentarchitectural styles; in the same way, an abundance of colors form a harmoniouswhole imbued with simplicity and elegance. The original old town square wasdestroyed during the Second World War. In the 1970s, social fund-raisingactivities allowed for its restoration, and just like the phoenix which risesfrom its ashes, a sense of lofty sacredness now permeates the area.

Georgia is situated on the coast of the Black Sea. It is an ancientcountry with a special culture. Its capital, Tbilisi, is a famous ancientmetropolis of the South Caucasus region. In the old town of Tbilisi have beenpreserved alleyways, residences, castles and palaces with over a century ofhistory. Its environment is refined and unique. The artist is an adept oflandscape paintings [shanshui hua], and has painted his impression ofthe city of Tbilisi in this pure and elegant style. The result is a simple yetstylistically rich work of art.

The Naryn River, part of Kyrgyzstan’s enviable water resources, is aprecious gift of nature. Its source originates in the glaciers of the TianshanMountains. Over 800 kilometers long, this hydrographic system possesses hugehydroelectric and irrigation potential, and so being it has been called thenation’s “Mother River”. In this painting, the meandering river lingers amidthe jagged mountains. The artist’s work possesses the romantic charm ofclassical ink landscape paintings, and gives full expression to the vigor andmagnificence of the natural scenery of the Naryn river.

一位端庄秀丽的巴勒斯坦少女头戴佩饰、身着华服，叉腰拈裙，即将翩跹起舞。少女优雅的舞姿展示着巴勒斯坦民族悠久的文化传统和美丽大方。作品笔法细腻，结构严谨准确，汲取西画的技法，强调明暗表现，加之晕染与皴擦的运用，真切地描绘出人物质感与精神气质。

A beautiful, dignified Palestinian young girl wears a tiara and anoriental dress, and stands with her hands on her hips are she prepares todance. The young girl’s elegant posture exemplifies long-standing Palestiniancultural traditions and refinement. The artist meticulously employs his brushso as to realize fine and delicate lines forming a precise structure; in thisregard, his technique is somewhat derivative of western schools. He puts greatemphasis on lighting, and uses traditional ink wash painting techniques such assmudging [hunran] and scraping [cunca] in order to vividlyportray the character’s texture and spiritual disposition.

The Doi Inthanon National Park is a national natural reserve ofThailand. Walking amid this lush natural reserve one can hear the twittering ofthe birds, smell the fragrance of flowers, and appreciate the gorgeous scenery.The artist smoothly employs light ink to outline the visual rhythm of terracedfields; he uses layers of accumulated ink to realize a clear sky and lonesomepale clouds. These elements are part of the artist’s simple, ethereal, andintangible conception. The image expresses all the lingering and nostalgia theartist directs at this piece of land.

The eastern European country of Bulgaria is known for its fourdistinctive seasons and pleasant weather. The historical remnants of the Romanand Byzantine civilizations still observable to this day appear all the moreunsophisticated and elegant in the middle of spring. Insipid and moist flowersin bloom are fascinating, and faithfully give expression to the perfection ofnature. Now that the smoke of war has dissipated, Iraq’s Hussein Mosque standsunder azure skies, erect in all its grandeur. Amid a forest of luxuriant datepalms, towering minarets reach to the vault of heaven, promulgating the age-oldand glorious religious traditions and historical culture of the Iraqi people,as well as intimating their yearning for peace and well-being. The solemn Iraqiflag sublimely brings unity to all themes presented in this work.
